Bird Watching in the Sunshine Coast EH!
The Sunshine Coast being a lush, mountainous and forested region with many lakes and creeks attracts a great variety of wildlife to the region including a wide assortment of lake birds, sea birds, predatory birds and song birds.
The coastal communities, because of the many rivers and lakes in the area, have developed and protected some key marsh areas creating estuary like bird watching parks. The local wetlands, estuaries, lakes, ocean coastlines and marshes of the region have been attracting birds of all species for many to admire.
Some of the more popular birds of the Sunshine Coast are the Bald Eagles, Sandpipers, mergansers, Blue Herons, hummingbirds, loons, cormorants, ospreys, western grebes, mallards, harlequins and widgeons to name a few.
