Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia is located south of the Earls Cove BC Ferry Terminal which is the connector route for Hwy 101 between the upper and lower portions of the Sunshine Coast... Halfmoon Bay is north of the BC Ferry Terminal in Langdale coming from Vancouver.

From the city of Vancouver, BC it is 145 kilometres to the southern portion of the Sunshine Coast. A 5.5 hour journey, give or take a half hour.

From the City of Vancouver, BC: First you need to board a BC Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale which transports vehicles, foot passengers and cyclists to the southern most tip of the Sunshine Coast near the community of Gibsons. From there, travel north on Highway 101 for about 1-2 hours visiting with Sechelt, then arriving in Halfmoon Bay.

From Comox Valley on Vancouver Island: Approaching Halfmoon Bay, B.C. from the northern side of the Sunshine Coast, you first need to board a BC Ferry from the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Here there is the Little River BC Ferry Terminal which takes you directly to the community of Powell River and then a short 35+ km drive south to Saltery Bay BC Ferry Terminal. At Saltery Bay take another BC Ferry ride to Earl's Cove. From the terminal continue south on Hwy 101 to Pender Harbour then onto Halfmoon Bay.
