Homesite Creek Trail located north of Sechelt, BC part of the Sunshine Coast, nearest the community of Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia, Canada. The trail is short hike through forests and, at times, can be a difficult trek as the terrain is rough and can get soggy and muddy. The Homesite Creek Trail cuts through forests for 2 km ( 1.2 mi.) and leads to the Homesite Waterfall, some sinkholes and a group of limestone caves. The caves are self exploratory, so beware, as the floor of the caves can be slippery. The area is protected so be gentle to your surroundings and do not disturb any of the landscape. The route should take 30 min - 1 hour to complete. Access to Homesite Caves Trail: Follow Hwy 101 to Halfmoon Bay north of Sechelt, BC. The trailhead is right on the Sunshine Coast Hwy. It is hard to spot. Look for the white trailhead sign. Or turn right on the Forest Service Road which is about 3 km
( 1.9 mi.) north of Halfmoon Bay. The parking lot is located 100
m (328 ft.) past the powerlines. Look for an orange rock carin
which is the trailhead. Start trekking down the trail. |
