Lions Park Trail is a Pender
Harbour community park open to the public with many onsite amenities
and activities. There is a community hall, a baseball field, BBQ
area and a playground to entertain a family - staying together,
playing together.
The highlight for anybody interested in hiking and exploring
the natural appeal of the park area is to start a trek on the
Lions Park Trail. A short hiking trail route
of only 1 km or so walking through forests, covered in ferns and
moss, exploring over bridges looking down at rumbling creeks.
This is by no means a rush through type hike, visitors should
take their time, take a seat at one of the trail bench observation
points and sit back, listen and observe waterfalls falling down
through aged and worn back rock clefts. Set aside (30 min) if
you are in a crunch for time.
Access to Lions Park Trail: Follow Hwy 101 north
from Pender
Harbour approximately 5km (3.4 mi.) north of Madeira Park
and continue past Garden Bay Road. Approximately 1.4 km past Garden
Bay Road is the Lions Club sign. Turn here... park, do an inventory
check, lock up and go. Have fun eh. |
