Lost Lake Trail
|
| Lost Lake Trail is located on the top portion of the Sunshine Coast closest to the community of Powell River, BC, Canada. The 4 km (2.5 mi) moderately difficult Lost Lake Trail connects Haywire Bay with the west side of Inland Lake. Along the way this up-and-down old growth forested route passes by Lost Lake. The Lost Lake Trail is a rough hiking trail, ungroomed, which in its own defence can make for some of the best outdoor wilderness hiking experiences as everything is fresh and untouched. Along the hiking route, besides old growth forests are views of wetlands and many varieties of flora and fauna of the area. The Lost Lake hiking route has no pit toilets along the way. So best to get "the business" done at one of the trailheads of the Lost Lake Trail either at Haywire Bay or Inland Lake. Access to Lost Lake Trail: There are two entrances. Go to either, Haywire Bay Regional Park which is located 7 km (4.5 mi.) north of Powell River, BC. The park is best accessed by the gravel road from the turn-off on Haslam Road. Or venture out to the other trailhead at Inland
Lake Trail which is located near Cranberry Lake about 12 km
north of the community of Powell River, BC. Look for Cranberry
Lake on the map and then find Haslam Street, turn left onto the
gravel road for about 4.5 km then turn right at the Haywire Bay/Inland
Lake junction for another 2 km. Locate park signs, find a parking
spot (do not leave valuables in the car). Have fun! |
